Dr. Xenophon Zampoulis is Research Director at the Institute of Informatics – Research and Technology Foundation, Greece. He has a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Crete and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. His contributions are in computer vision and digitization, image analysis, with applications in robotics, interactive environments and cultural heritage applications. For the last 6 years, he has been working on the digitization, documentation and preservation of traditional arts, as a coordinator within the Craeft, Mingei, Transparent 3D and DigiTraining projects of the European Commission.
