Social anthropologist. She was born in Athens. Graduated in Philosophy
School of the University of Athens, attended the postgraduate seminar
of folklore by A. Kyriakidou-Nestoros and E. Skouteris-Didaskalou in
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As a Peloponnesian scholar
Folkloric Foundation specialized (Masters of Science) in social
anthropology at the University of London (University College London) and
she received her doctorate in social anthropology from the same university.
He taught Folk Culture at the Department of History-Archaeology of the University
of Patras from which she retired in August 2022 in her rank
deputy professor.
Her research interests and publications revolve around her
anthropology of childhood, play and material culture ¨Echii
engage in tinsmithing in collaboration with the historical Leda
Papastephanaki, with whom they have completed research on behalf of PIOP
on the subject of tinsmithing in Greece during the twentieth century.
He has edited three volumes on children’s play and two subject volumes
material culture (Ethnographical volume 9 “Dedication to children’s play”, Nafplio
1993), Ethnographica 10, “Dedication to Epirus”, Nafplion 1998 (in collaboration
