On May 2 2023, NWMW NPO presented Focus Geology, the third Focus activity of The Inherited Earth residency program at the Cultural Center of Panormos Tinos ‘Giannouli Alepas’. The Focus geology event involved talks by academic researchers on geology aiming to present to the participating artists and researchers the peculiar geological setting of the island of Tinos in which they were called to create. Dr. of geology Konstantinos Soukis, and the researchers Vasiliki Anevlavi and Alkis Sideridis presented the geological peculiarities of the island’s Exo Meria area through particularly interesting thematic sections, related to rocks, archaeometry and the use of Tinos marble from antiquity to today.
