On Saturday, November 23, 2024 (at 17:00) the Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with NWMW NPO and the Chillida Leku Museum, are organizing a tribute to the work of the world renowned Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, in the Museum of Marble Crafts in Pyrgos Tinos.
In the first part of the dedication, Ms. Sofia Zisimou and Mrs. Alexandra Gryparis from NOMO will present the artist’s career, highlighting the influence of place, identity and traditions on his work.
In the second part, the documentary “Art and dreams” (Spain, 1999, 54′, Todo Espectador) by Susana Chillida, dedicated to the prominent Basque artist, will be screened. Susana Chillida, the artist’s daughter, explores, from her experience as a filmmaker, educator and psychologist, the complex paths to the work and life of her father, one of the greatest sculptors of the 20th century.
